Symptom

SAP instance does not start. In the joblog you see errors

SAPcontrol_WaitforServiceStarted: Wait Timeout: FAIL: TimeoutStartInstance: Error starting sapstartsrv job. rc = 4

In the joblog of the SAPSTRSRV job, the following errors are found

CPDB9ED No runtime definition found for symbol                       
               
             _StdStringExponentialAllocation__Q2_3std7_LFS_ON.                              
               
Cause . . . . . :   The symbol was referenced from PASE for i module 
              
 sapstartsrv, but no runtime definition of the symbol was found.
