2542388 - System Triggered Error When Trying to Release Third Party Delivery Notification

When trying to release third party delivery Notification from Third Party Purchase Order, the following error appears

Error while creating or updating follow-up document.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Third Party Order Fulfillment Work Center.
2. Go to Third party Purchase Orders View.
3. In Find DEF (DEF refers Third party purchase order number)
4. Select Go.
5. Select New Third Party Delivery Notification.
6. Fill all the required entries in General tab and Items tab.
7. Select Release.

The following error appears as mentioned below.

Error while creating or updating follow-up document.

The serial number for item XY(XY refers Item no)  has a special character, which is not a valid character.

User need to remove the special character from Serial Number as this is not allowed.
