2542923 - "R3trans -x" or "R3trans -d" tests eventually shows ORA-01034 even though the database is up and running fine

Symptom

Exhausting testing of "R3trans -x" or "R3trans -d" might cause the results to return "R3trans finished (0012)", in the trans.log shows errors ORA-01034/ORA-27101.
