2543192 - Special Characters Are Not Displayed Correctly in E-Mail Attachment XML File

You have received an e-mail with an XML attachment that contains special characters. However, the special characters are being displayed as ## which is not correct.

1. Go to the Acitivities work center.
2. Go to the E-Mails view.
3. Open any E-Mail with an attachment in XML format.
4. Open the attachment.

Result: you see ## instead of special characters.

The MIME type of the attachment is text/xml and not application/xml.

The issue with sending it in that format is that the encoding is assumed to be US-ASCII for such text/* MIME types. Certain special characters are not present in ASCII, due to which these are getting replaced with ##.

Please choose type application/xml for your attachments.
