2543416 - Silent Installation does not install Crystal Reports

• Silent install does not work.
• Silent installation, does not install Crystal Reports.
• When running a silent installation of Crystal Reports, nothing happen.

• SAP Crystal Reports 2013
• SAP Crystal Reports 2016
• SAP Crystal Reports 2020

1. Follow the Crystal Reports Installation Guide to create a response.ini file.
2. Type the command line to start the Silent Installation of Crystal Reports.
    
   Nothing happens

• The silent installation failed because the response.ini file:
• Is missing the product keycode; or
• They are quotations around the Path, or Product Keycode.

• To be able to successfully install Crystal Reports silently, update the response.ini file:
• Add the Product Keycode, if it was displaying it like: ****-*****-****-****; or
• Remove the quotes around the Installation Path and Keycode in the response.ini file.
    
     
• Below is an example of an invalid response.ini file, that have quotes around the Installation Path and Keycode:
  
  ### Installation Directory
  installdir="C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\"
  ### Type of installation: default or custom
  installtype=default
  ### Product Keycode
  productkey="1234-5678-9123-4567"
  ### Language Packs Selected to Install
  selectedlanguagepacks=en
  ...   

• To be able to install the product successfully silently, remove the quotations around the Installation Path and Product Keycode, therefore the response.ini file will be like:
  
  ### Installation Directory
  installdir=C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\
  ### Type of installation: default or custom
  installtype=default
  ### Product Keycode
  productkey=1234-5678-9123-4567
  ### Language Packs Selected to Install
  selectedlanguagepacks=en
  ...
