2545170 - SAP Gateway Client generates incorrect URL (http://:/ and https://:/) from request URI when protocol, host and port should be used

Symptom

  • In the SAP Gateway Client (transaction /n/IWFND/GW_CLIENT) incorrect URL is generated from the request URI with an http://:/ or an https://:/ prefix.
    This server's host name and port number is missing, for example: "http://:/sap/opu/odata/IWBEP/GWSAMPLE_BASIC"
    AND
  • Executing the incorrect URL results in an error message:
    HTTP Receive failed: Connect to :443 failed:
    NIEHOST_UNKNOWN(-2)
