2545248 - Access Restriction Does Not Work for Bill of Materials

You have maintained Access Restriction for Bill of Material. However, when you check in Planning and Production Master Data work center, the functionality does not work for User ABC.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Application and User Management work center.
2. Select Business Users view.
3. Search for the User ABC.
4. Select the User ABC.
5. Click Edit.
6. Choose Access Rights.
7. Select Access Restrictions tab.

Here you have maintained restrictions for Bill of Operation, Bill of Material or Production Model. However, the restriction does not work for Bill of Materials.

Logged in with User ABC:

1. Go to Planning and Production Master Data work center.
2. Select Bill of Material view.

Notice that the user ABC has access to the restricted data

ABC is dummy data used to represent User ID 

Access restrictions in SCM area works and are applied on a Site level. Bill of Material does not have site information and is generic to company level, hence no restrictions can be implemented on it.

Access Restriction currently is not available for Bill of Material as it exists independent of site.
