2545521 - Scheduled Bundle is Aborted/Terminated in Legacy Report Distributor

Symptom

  • Offline report is intentionally terminated if the execution time exceeds 6 hours
  • Offline report is intentionally terminated if the memory consumed is excessive (and the report is unlikely to complete)

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Resolution

To prevent the use of excessive job server resources for reports ran offline, either scheduled or not, three changes have been made which result in an email being sent to the report scheduler:

  • An offline report is intentionally terminated if the execution time exceeds the Maximum Allowable Execution Time (default is 6 hours)
  • An offline report is intentionally terminated if the memory consumed is excessive (and the report is unlikely to complete)
  • A scheduled report is assigned an expiry date and it is suspended from running on this date if no change to the report schedule is made.
  • The default expire date is 3 months from start date, this can be extended manually to 2 years. Before 2021 release the default expire date was 2 years, but it was changed to prevent the use of excessive job server resources and for reports that are no longer needed from being run and not being reviewed.

Note that an email will not be sent for schedules run from Report Center if the Notify On Completion setting is turned Off.
