2547379 - JBOSS connecting to ASE reports "SybConnectionDeadException: JZ0C0: Connection is already closed" - ASE

Symptom

  • JBOSS connecting to ASE reports the following error:

IOException: com.sybase.jdbc4.jdbc.SybConnectionDeadException: JZ0C0: Connection is already closed.

  • ASE error log reports the following error:

nrpacket: recv, Connection timed out, spid: 423, suid: 1088
00:0010:00000:00000:2017/09/26 21:38:44.64 kernel  extended error information: hostname: <hostname> login: <login>

  • sp_monitorconfig  "number of user connections" shows there are connections available
