2548518 - The Sales Order or Sales Quotes Uploaded via Excel Failed with Errors

The Sales Order or Sales Quote uploaded via excel failed with below errors.

'Create not possible; source object inconsistent'

'Party with role Sales Unit missing'

'The currency was not found for account XYZ, sales organization  and distribution channel (XYZ represents the Account ID)'

'Distribution channel or sales organization missing'

'Item XX: Products with item group not supported' (XX represents the Line Item Number)

SAP Business ByDesign

• Sales Orders

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Go to the Sales orders view.
3. Select the New button and choose Sales Order from Microsoft Excel®.
4. Add mandatory details in the excel.
5. Upload the excel in Business ByDesign system.
6. You receive the pop up mentioning Record(s) failed to save due to the errors.

'Distribution channel or sales organization missing'

'Item XX: Products with item group not supported'

• Sales Quotes:

1. Go to the New Business work center.
2. Go to the Sales Quotes view.
3. Click on the New button, select Sales Quote from Microsoft Excel®.
4. Fill the template with the relevant information using the Lookup function.
5. Click on Save data to.

The upload fails with the following error messages:

'Error while copying price components and tax details'

'Party with role Sales Unit missing'

'The currency was not found for account XYZ, sales organization  and distribution channel.'

'Distribution channel or sales organization missing'

'Item XX: Products with item group not supported'

You have not set the master data correctly and the system is not able to recognize the Sales Unit and Distribution Channel. Or add the Sales Unit and Distribution Channel to the excel template.

You can set up the automatic determination of Sales Unit and Distribution Channel in the sales order by following below steps:

1. Go to the Organizational Management work center.
2. Go to the Work Distribution view -> Organizational Work Distribution subview.
3. Select Sales Unit for Sales under Business Area: Sales and Marketing.
4. Edit the Sales Unit for Sales option.
5. Select the Add Rule option.
6. You can add the rule depending upon your business requirement. This rule ensures automatic determination of sales unit in sales documents.
