2549031 - Revise item while maintaining curriculum retraining settings in Learning

• When revising an item, the Learning admin wants to retain the retraining cycles and settings for the new revision.
• Users who have previously completed an item should not have to complete the new revision until the next retraining deadline.

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

The unwanted behavior is as follows:

1. A user completes an item with retraining inside a curricula >
2. The Learning admin revises the item following the steps to update the item revision inside the curricula >
3. The user now has to complete the item again inside the initial assignment period instead of the retraining period.

Make sure that the substitutes are enabled: System Administration > Configuration > Global Application Settings > Select "Enable Substitutes" and possibly "Enable Substitutes in Curriculum Requirements" Apply Changes.

1. Revise the item making sure to mark the appropriate option but do not make the new revision production ready yet >
2. Go to the new revision of the item >
3. Go to the "Substitutes" >
4. Click in "Add Substitutes" (the "+" button) >
5. Search for the previous revision of the item (make sure to search for inactive items as well, as the previous revision should be inactive) >
6. Select the "Completion Status" and check the "Add" checkbox >
7. Review the other fields according to KBA 2177797, which describes the behavior of setting the "Effective Date" field and the other options in the substitute relationship >
8. After setting everything correctly, click "Add" >
9. Now, make the item production ready by clicking the "Finalize Revision" option in the new revision of the item via the "Actions" button > 
10. Check all the options, making sure that the option "Do you wish to update curricula potentially affected by this new item revision?" is selected >
11. Review the configuration settings for the curriculum >
12. Use the "Run the job now" option.
