SF Learning functionality: Default to User's Time Zone for display of Classes

Note: Course Home disregards this setting. As of 2H 2023, all users except for external shopping account type users will have Course Home enabled by default and cannot be disabled. Disregard this setting if the users are internal.

If you select this checkbox in User Settings, then in the end user environment, Always display Classes in this Time Zone is enabled, meaning that users can choose to see the Classes times in their time zone or the time zone of the Class if they are different.

If you clear it, then Always display Schedule Offerings in this Time Zone is disabled.

The effects of disabling the check box is different for new users and existing users:

• New users
  cannot change the default setting you do not check Default to User’s Time Zone for display of Classes checkbox.
  If you default the users to see class in their own time zone, and the Enable User to choose the Class Time Zone display check box is clear (in User Settings, please see above screenshot) , then all new users are forced to see class in the timezone set in their preferences.

• Existing users
  maintain their setting at the time you clear the Enable user to choose the Classes Time Zone display check box.
  If the users cleared their Always display Classes in this Time Zone check box, then it remains clear. If the users selected it, it remains selected.
  if they are allowed to change their Preferences (Links tile > Options and Settings and it is configured in Learning Administration > System Administration > Application Administration > User Settings > Allow Users to change Regional Information, please see above screenshot) and they touched the Enable user to choose the Class Time Zone display check box at least once, this feature won't take any effect in their profile.

User interface:

This setting will not update Existing Users, only New Users created after the settings have been changed.
