2549731 - Not all subordinates are transferred after manager change workflow is approved

Symptom

When a Workflow request gets submitted and approved for a group of employees for a manager change, not all the subordinates are transferred over to the new manager

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core
  • Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Submit a workflow for a Direct Report Transfer from a Manager X to Y
  2. After the workflow is approved, not all the subordinates are transferred over to the new manager Y 

Cause

  • This happens because the Import job that gets submitted failed with an error message as below : 

        custom-string26 is a required field and cannot be blank.,custom-string28 is a required field and cannot be blank

  • Some of the subordinates would not have had these fields filled up initially, but they were set to "mandatory" on BCUI after the Workflow gets submitted

Resolution

This can be avoided by not changing the settings on these fields in Manage Business Configuration, after the workflow is submitted
