Symptom

  • Unable to save changes to a 'Custom CDS View' due to error 'Changing Aggregation of Field XXX Is Incompatible'.
  • Custom CDS view is being used as data source in custom analytical query.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the App Custom CDS View.
  2. Change the fields of the CDS view.
  3. Observe error when saving the changes.

Cause

The 'Custom CDS View' is being used by the analytical query as data source is not possible to do incompatible changes.

Resolution

  1. Open 'Custom Analytical Queries' App.
  2. Find the queries which are created based on this CDS view.
  3. Remove the queries.
  4. Go back to the app 'Custom CDS View'.
  5. Change the CDS view.
