Symptom

SUM fails in the SHADOW_IMPORT_INC phase; the error shown is:

Severe error(s) occurred in phase MAIN_SHDIMP/SUBMOD_SHDIMP/SHADOW_IMPORT_INC!
Last error code set:
../SUM/abap/bin/SAPuptool exited with -6, see
'../SUM/abap/log/OPTLOCKFLAG.LOG' for details

Inside of OPTLOCKFLAG.LOG, the last lines with error show the following:

SAPuptool: SAPupLibBigSort.c:1990: mergeRuns: Assertion `pbs->BSI_Seqs[0].SEQ_Count == pbs->BSI_Count' failed.

*** FATAL: Got signal 'SIGABRT' (6)! Please contact the SAP support!
