2552108 - Access to content of blended item from class

It is possible to have different behaviors/ways of accessing the content of blended items from classes.

With a class created, where it has an online content, there are three possible scenarios for the user to access it:

1. Only allow registered users to access the content. The "Unregistered User can Access Online Content" is off and the "Content available only during specified time slot of a class" is not checked.

PS. This set of configuration still requires users to be enrolled into a class. If they are not, content won't be available.

2. Only allow registered users to access the content, but those registered users can only access the content when the class occurring. The "Unregistered User can Access Online Content" is off and the "Content available only during specified time slot of a class" is checked.

3. Allow registered and unregistered users to access the content. The "Unregistered User can Access Online Content" is on.

In addition:

• To have the "Unregistered User can Access Online Content" box available, follow these steps: Learning admin > System Administration > Configuration > Entity Configuration > In the dropdown, select Item > Find the "Unregistered User can Access Online Content" in the Field Name column > Check the box of the Display column > Save.
• The box will be in the Item Details tab of the item entity.
• To reach the "Content available only during specified time slot of a class" setting, follow these steps: Learning admin > Learning Activities > Items > Search and access the desired one > Online Content tab > Settings (gear icon) > Launch tab.

According to the configuration set in the item level, the users when accessing the item via library, they will be able to choose the learning style according to their business needs.

The options to select their Learning Style are:

• Instructor-Led
• Online Content

If the flag "Unregistered User can Access Online Content" is set to false, the option 'Online Content' will not be available to be selected by the user.

PS: The label under "Type" (see screenshot above) is also controlled by the item flag "Unregistered User can Access Online Content". Please see below

• Unregistered User can Access Online Content = ENABLED (LABEL STATUS: Instructor-Led or Online Content)
• Unregistered User can Access Online Content = DISABLED (LABEL STATUS: Instructor-Led with Online Content)

PS.2: If the option "Unregistered User can Access Online Content" is set to OFF, then the online content will not be available for launch after the class time.
