Symptom

An SAP NetWeaver based system does not start.

The dispatcher trace (dev_disp or dev_disp.new) contains the following error messages:

*** ERROR => EgInit: EG init failed, returncode 5 [egxx.c       447]
*** ERROR => EgInit: could not create segment #2 [egxx.c       450]
*** ERROR => EgInit: 251 of 1321 blocks left [egxx.c       451]
*** ERROR => DpEmInit: EmInit failed (1) [dpInit.c     1576]
*** ERROR => DpMemInit: DpEmInit (-1) [dpInit.c     1440]
*** DP_FATAL_ERROR => DpSapEnvInit: DpMemInit
*** DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***
