Symptom
When a presentation with Live Slides is saved as PDF, by printing the document, the background colors are not displayed.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Presentations
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Presentations > Open a presentation with Live Slides or Create a new one;
- On the presentation's menu, select the option "Print Presentation";
- Select the desired print options;
- Click "Print";
- Preview printing page is shown;
- At the bottom of the page select "Send To Print";
- Select the option to save as PDF > Open the PDF file;
- The background colors and/or borders are not displayed in the PDF file.
Cause
By default, browsers do not print background colors. For browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox, it is not possible to automatically force the printing of background colors for a given element.
Resolution
To be able to print the background colors and borders from Live Slides on Presentations, the user have to enable printing of background colors for Internet Explorer and Firefox before printing the Presentations. You can follow below steps to enable the printing of background colors, in each browser:
Mozilla Firefox
- On the browser tools bar, click on File > Page Setup;
- On the "Format & Options" tab, enable the option "Print Background (colors & images)";
- Click Ok.
Internet Explorer
- On the browser tools bar, click on File > Page Setup;
- Enable the option "Print Background Colors and Images";
- Click Ok.
As a possible workaround, the user can also use the "Save as PDF" option and then print the Matrix Grid Report directly from the PDF reader tool.
