2553398 - Customer Usage Data Report values are inconsistent for different admins

Symptom

Customer Usage Data Report values are inconsistent for different admins.
When running the Customer Usage Data for the same date range, we see different values in the count values.

Environment

SuccessFactors LMS
Learning Management System

Reproducing the Issue

1. Go to Reports and run Customer Usage Data Report
2. Have another admin run the same report
3. You will see different values in the count of the report.

Cause

It happens due to difference in the Timezone Preference for the admins.
Example:
Admin 1 has the Timezone Preference as America/New York
Admin 2 has the Timezone Preference as Asia/Calcutta

When Admin 1 runs the report, it will calculate based on the admin's preferred timezone. Similarly for Admin 2, their preferred timezone will be used for calculations.
Due to the timezone difference, the count will be impacted.

If a User - (User A) Logged in at 1st September 11:00 AM IST
For Admin 1, it will be calculated as August 31st. Since according to timezone conversion, it will still August 31st for the Admin A.
For Admin 2, it will be calculated as September 1st. Since it was September 1st for admin 2.

Resolution

It is not an issue but expected behavior of the system. If you make both the admin timezones as same, you will see same results.
