2554648 - SQL Anywhere Windows service does not start since the ImagePath string value in the registry key was quoted

Symptom

  • The Windows service cannot start and the Windows Event System viewer shows "The system cannot find the file specified".
  • SQL Anywhere log file does not include any message.

  • Opening a DOS console and running
    sc query serviceName
    the WIN32_EXIT_CODE is 0 meaning that the Windows Service Control Manager did not attempt to start the service because an issue was detected first.
