2555368 - PlRuntimeException Runtime Error - Locale variants are not supported, locale=<LOCALE>

• You have either:
• Upgraded or migrated your Enterprise Portal from NetWeaver 7.0x to NetWeaver 7.30 or higher release
• Transported Portal Content from NetWeaver 7.0x to NetWeaver 7.30 or higher release
• After logging on to the Portal there is a Portal Runtime Error
• Checking the developer/default trace files you observe a error similar to the below:

  at com.sap.portal.prt.om.ObjectsManager.createObejctHandle(ObjectsManager.java:246)
  ...
  Caused by: com.sapportals.portal.pcd.pl.PlRuntimeException: Locale variants are not supported, locale=<LOCALE>
  at com.sapportals.portal.pcd.pl.PlLocaleCache.convertStringToLocale(PlLocaleCache.java:116)

• For example you may observe an error such as: Locale variants are not supported, locale=en_gb_GB
