2556253 - CDS view query sql fails with Error 325 - SAP ASE for Business Suite

On SAP NetWeaver 7.5 systems on SAP ASE 160 SP02 PL06 HF1, CDS view access fails with the following error:

Database error 325 with PRE access to table <CDS view name>

An example of the failing query is:

SELECT "ID" "ID" ,"TEXT" "TEXT" ,"LEVELNO" "LEVELNO"
FROM "/CREDINS/VORG2N" "PDORGNODESET"
WHERE "MANDT" = '100'
ORDER BY  "PDORGNODESET" ."ID" ROWS LIMIT 20

Msg 325, Level 18, State 1: Server 'ABC', Line 1:
