2557788 - Project Based Services are not Supported in Contract

Symptom

You are not able to select project based service in the contract. When entering the ID manually, one the following errors is displayed:

Products with item group Service - time and material (project) not supported

Products with item group Service - fixed price (project) not supported

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
  2. Go to the Contracts view.
  3. Click New to open the new contract window, enter the necessary data in General tab.
  4. Go to the Items tab, click Add Row and open the value help of Product, the service ABC is not available. (ABC represents the ID of service item).

Cause

Project based services are also not supported in Quote for Contract documents as they are preceding document for Contracts.

Resolution

The item group of the service item ABC are all project based. Project based services are not supported in contract.

This is the correct system behavior as designed.
