Failed to connect to system in SAP Analytics Cloud (formerly known as SAP BusinessObjects Cloud / BOC)

Google Chrome Developer Tools show that https://<HANAHOST>:<HANAPORT>/sap/bc/ina/service/v2/GetServerInfo failed with 401 Unauthorized

401 - Not authorized You're not allowed to access the specified resource. Credentials are missing or incorrect.

Possible solution Please enter valid credentials when being prompted. In case you forgot your credentials please contact your system administrator.

1. "Configure CORS support on your SAP HANA system" per https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/58c890e1c89d41e69b2cec31bac2d95f.html
2. Create a working "Live Data Connection to SAP HANA using a Direct Connection"
3. Some time later notice the error
4. Check sap/bc/ina/service/v2/.xsaccess and notice that the CORS configuration is unchanged

Someone has edited the CORS configuration in the Runtime Configuration Details in the XS Admin Tool

Per SAP HANA help "Runtime configuration settings override any settings in the application's corresponding application-access (.xsaccess) configuration file."

1. Open the XS Admin Tool at http://<HANAHOST>:<HANAPORT>/sap/hana/xs/admin
2. Search for ina
3. Click sap.bc.ina.service.v2
4. Click CORS tab
5. Click the Revert Runtime Settings icon in the bottom right corner
6. Check CORS
7. Click Save
8. Now the Runtime configuration settings will match the .xsaccess configuration file
