2559289 - SAP IQ: Point-In-Time-Recovery with TIMESTAMP option doesn't work

Symptom

SAP IQ Point-In-Time Recovery (PITR) with TIMESTAMP option is failing.

  • Restore SQL

       RESTORE DATABASE 'SAPIQDB' FROM '/siqbackup/IQ_DATA/CURRENT/backup.full.20171031_001'
       RECOVER UNTIL TIMESTAMP '2017-10-31 10:40:41.445'
       USING LOG PATH '/siqbackup/IQ_LOGS/CURRENT/', '/siqbackup/IQ_LOGS/ARCHIVED/'
       OVERWRITE EXISTING CLEAR LOG ;

  • Error 

      Catalog restore complete
      IQ file pre-allocation complete
      IQ data restore complete
      Could not execute statement.
      Unable to start specified database: Attempt to start recovery before first checkpoint of the backup
      SQLCODE=-82, ODBC 3 State="08001"

  • Error

    Could not execute statement.
    Run time SQL error -- Point-in-time recovery timeline branchpoint does not match beginning of log file
    SQLCODE=-300, ODBC 3 State="HY000"
