Symptom

  • "Dump database" or "SYB_BACKUP...who" may trigger following errors:
    Msg 7205, Level 17, State 2:
    Server 'XXX', Line 1:
    Can't open a connection to site 'SYB_BACKUP'. See the error log file in the ASE boot directory
  • ASE error log includes following stack trace:
    com_unsignstrcmp
    com_err_msg
    srv_dcl_error
    kdcl_sess_open
    dcl_find_interface
    site_interfaces
    site_connect
