2559816 - When you are Trying to Change the Status of the Stock for Externally Managed Stock,Error Appears

You are trying to change the status of the stock of externally managed stock to Inspection status,Error appears,*XX refers to Item no

 Item XX: Movement direction and reason code combination not permitted

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Third-Party Logistics work center.
2. In Common tasks select the option New Inventory Change in Externally Managed Location from the drop-down.
3. In the opened window, fill in the required fields under the General tab.
4. Go to the Line Items tab, select the Add Row, enter the Item ID, Reason as Disruptive Sampling and Movement Direction as Inventory Issue and other required details.
5. Enter values for Product and Quantity columns too.
6. Now, select Add Row button again, enter Item ID, Reason as Disruptive Sampling, Movement Direction as Inventory Receipt and fill in Product and Quantity columns too.
7. Select Check

Error appears

 Item XX: Movement direction and reason code combination not permitted

For Inspection status you are not maintaining proper reason code and movement direction, Hence this is causing the error.

You can follow steps below:

1. Go to the Third-Party Logistics work center.
2. In Common tasks select the option New Inventory Change in Externally Managed Location from the drop-down.
3. In the opened window, fill in the required fields under the General tab.
4. Go to the Line Items tab, select the Add Row, enter the Item ID, Reason as Inventory Difference and Movement Direction as Inventory Issue and other required details.
5. Enter values for Product and Quantity columns too.
6. Now, select Add Row button again, enter Item ID, Reason as Inventory Difference, Movement Direction as Inventory Receipt and fill in Product and Quantity columns too.
7. For the second line item, you have to either select the stock as Inspection or enter an Identified Stock ID as you are doing a change of stock.
8. Then select Save, Release and save.
