2560292 - Time Type 8 and 20 in HCM Reports

Symptom

When user are looking at the report Employee Times: Overtime Overview and you notice that there are two different Time Types on this report: 8 and 20, but no description.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Analytics work center
  2. Access the view Design Reports;
  3. Show All and Find HCMTLMU01_Q0013;
  4. Open the report Employee Times: Overtime Overview and click on Go;
  5. Add the Key Figure Recorded Time to the report;
  6. Time Types 8 and 20 will be displayed instead of the time types maintained in the employee time sheet.

Cause

Time Types 8 and 20 are valuation time types that are derived after Time Valuation has run.

The system will then determine the total recorded time per day and store their values under the respective time type.

Time Type 8 stores data related to productive time, while the Time Type 20 stores time off data, such as vacation or partial leave for the day.

Resolution

System standard behavior.
