2562686 - ExtendedServiceException: Destination type: (0)WSIL is not supported!

Symptom

The below error message is displayed when publishing a service to Service Registry:

"Error in services registry; for more information, see the logs
See error logs for details"

The following error message occurs in the default trace:

Caused by: com.sap.esi.uddi.sr.api.exceptions.SRException Error Code: 29100 Detail Message: An exception occurred while obtaining UDDI Logical Ports. Please, check your configuration settings (UDDI Endpoint or UDDI wsdl file)com.sap.esi.esp.service.server.query.discovery.ExtendedServiceException: Destination type: (0)WSIL is not supported! Please provide a destination of type WSDL (1).

Similar error can be observed from different UIs, e.g. Service Registry UI, directory or third party tools using Service Registry API.
