2565042 - Error Message Against Unposted Source Documents: Number range interval overflow for document type XYZ

You have identified unposted source documents that have the error message 'Number range interval overflow for document type XYZ' (XYZ represents the transaction document type).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the General Ledger work center.
2. Select the subview Closing Cockpit.
3. Select the view Source Documents.

Here you can see source documents with the error 'Number range interval overflow for document type XYZ'.

The reason this error is appearing is because for a specific Company and Set of Books, for the specified document type and the specific Financial Year the number range has run out.

First you need to identify the number range profile that is used for this document type. To see the number range profile used:

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Open the Activity List.
3. Search and open the activity: Set of Books.
4. Select the relevant Set of Books.
5. Select Edit.
6. Go to the Company Settings Tab.
7. Select the relevant Company from the list.
8. At the bottom of the screen the Number Range profile is displayed.

Now to see the Number Range itself:

1. Go to the Business Configurations work center.
2. Open the Activity List.
3. Search and open the activity: Journal Entry Types and Number Ranges.
4. Select Edit number range profiles for Journal Entries.
5. Highlight the relevant Number Range profile.
6. In the Details table, find the transaction document code for XYZ and extend the number range.

Please note that at this step, you must change also the corresponding Reversal Journal Entry Type.
