2566102 - ASE preupgrade from ASE 12.5.x to some ASE 15.7 or 16.0 releases fail with "invalid column name" errors

Symptom

When running the "preupgrade" utility when preparing to upgrade from ASE 12.5.x to ASE 15.7 or ASE 16, the following error conditions are encountered:

Adaptive Server message 207, state 4, severity 16:
Invalid column name 'partitiontype'.

Adaptive Server message 207, state 4, severity 16:
Invalid column name 'conditionid'.

Environment

The problem occurs when upgrading to any of the following specific versions:

  • SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15.7 SP138
  • SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15.7 SP139
  • SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 16.0 SP02 PL05
  • SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 16.0 SP02 PL06
  • SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 16.0 SP03
  • SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 16.0 SP03 PL01
  • SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 16.0 SP03 PL02

The problem does not occur in earlier versions of ASE 15.7 or 16.0
