2567354 - How to Change Employees Name

You try to change employees' names.

But you found Name field is greyed out in Personnel administration work center, only could change values of contact, bank data, etc.

SAP Business ByDesign

• Go to Personnel Administration work center
• Go to Employee work center view
• Click on Edit

You found Name field is greyed out which is unable to edit.

This is standard system behavior, once name is applied in one period, it is not allowed to change name in this period.

You could only add a new period for different name.

1. Go to Personnel Administration work center
2. Go to Employee work center view
3. Click on Edit
4. Go to Personal Data tab
5. Go to Biographical Data tab
6. Here you could add row for this employee, in different period, they could have different names.

Change of the name is only possible when Employee view is available under Business Partner Data work center since Personnel Administration work center is not used.
