2567692 - Error During Creation of Inspection Type "Enter a value for the mandatory field Inspection Type in 'Inspection Type' "

When you add Inspection Type in Business Configuration you will encounter error as below

Save failed
Enter a value for the mandatory field Inspection Type in 'Inspection Type'

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Configuration work center
2. Select Implementation Projects
3. Click Open Activity List
4. Search the Activity Inspection Types
5. Open the Activity Inspection Types
6. Click Maintain Settings for Inspection Types
7. Click the last line under Available Inspection Types to add a new row
8. Enter any value for this new row
9. Select Save

You will encounter the above errors.

Standard/default Inspection types are provided by SAP and the user cannot create any custom Inspection types explicitly.

You can use the default Inspection Types delivered by SAP. There are 7 types available:

1. Receiving inspection - supplier delivery
2. In-process inspection – production
3. Receiving inspection - first article
4. Receiving inspection - customer return
5. Receiving inspection - stock transfer
6. Final inspection – production
7. Final inspection - customer shipment
