2567886 - Server Location not showing on Import Content Tool

Symptom

Admin cannot see the server location when importing a content using Import Content Tool.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Content > Import Tool
  2. Add new content > Next
  3. Select the content file to upload > Next
  4. Notice that there is no option for server location.

Cause

  1. The admin does not have necessary permission associated to their role
  2. The admin has Viewable Security Domains set where the Security Domain of the Deployment Location is not able to be viewed
  3. The admin has roles that have Security Domain Permission Group restrictions

Resolution

Missing Permissions:

  1. Navigate to System Administration > Security > Role Management
  2. Search for the role you wish to update and open in Edit mode
  3. Go to Permissions tab then click 'add one or more from list'
  4. Search for the 'Access Deploy Content To Server' and/or 'Search Content Deployment Location' permissions. Select them and 'Apply Changes'

Viewable Security Domains:

  1. The admin has to remove any preferences that were set by them

Security Domain Restrictions:

  1. Access the admin record and view all roles associated to the admin
  2. Access each role and find the proper one that has the correct permissions to access Deployment Locations
  3. Note the Security Domain of the Deployment Location
  4. Check the Entity Restriction tab and see if the Security Domain Group ID for the Content Deployment Location entity is one that the admin would have access to
  5. Either update the Security Domain Group at the role, the Security Domain Group should have the Security Domain of the Deployment Location, or the Deployment Location Security Domain should be changed.
