2568392 - The Characteristic ENGINEERING_CHANGE_ORDER_ID no Longer Available in The Standard Data Source SCMPBOMU02

You have created reports base on the standard SAP Data Source SCMPBOMU02. Whenever you tried to open any of the Reports, the system displays the following error messages:

• The following message applies to variable PAR_SEL_ENGINEERING_CHANGE_ORD of Report ABC (Report ABC represents the name of your Report).
• Characteristic ENGINEERING_CHANGE_ORDER_ID is missing in mdav SCMPBOMU02; Report XYZ cannot be saved (Report XYZ represents the name of your Report).
• The following message applies to Report ABC.
• Characteristic ENGINEERING_CHANGE_ORDER_ID is missing in MDAV SCMPBOMU02; restriction not possible

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to the work center Business Analytics.
2. Go to the view Design and Assign Reports and find Report ABC.
3. Open the Report by clicking on the hyperlink.
4. The following error messages are displayed:

• The following message applies to variable PAR_SEL_ENGINEERING_CHANGE_ORD of Report ABC (Report ABC represents the name of your Report).
• Characteristic ENGINEERING_CHANGE_ORDER_ID is missing in mdav SCMPBOMU02; Report XYZ cannot be saved (Report XYZ represents the name of your Report).
• The following message applies to Report ABC.
• Characteristic ENGINEERING_CHANGE_ORDER_ID is missing in MDAV SCMPBOMU02; restriction not possible

The Data Source was updated by SAP.

1. Navigate to the work center Business Analytics.
2. Go to the view Design Data Sources.
3. Find and select the Data source: SCMPBOMU02.
4. You can see under the General tab that this was changed by SAP.
5. Open the Documentation.
6. There you can see there's no Characteristics called ENGINEERING_CHANGE_ORDER_ID. However, there's the Characteristic "ECO ID".
7. In the section Data source used in List, you can see the "Report ABC"  and "Report XYZ" listed.
8. Go to the view Design and Assign Reports and find "Report ABC".
9. Click the button Edit With Report Wizard.
10. Navigate to the tab "3 Select Characteristics".
11. Select the Characteristic ECO ID in the list and modify as your Business requires.
12. Save the changes and run the report again. This time the report should run without the error.
