2568489 - Unable to Add Employee to Territory Get Error 'Cannot create territory. Parent territory already on the lowest level'

You are trying to add an employee to territory XXX (XXX represents the name of the territory) when receives the error message below:
'Cannot create territory. Parent territory already on the lowest level'

SAP HYBRIS CLOUD FOR CUSTOMER

1. Go to the Administrator work center.
2. Go to the Sales and Campaign Settings view.
3. Click on the Territories hyperlink.
4. Search and open XXX.
5. Go to the Territory Team tab.
6. Click on Add button.
7. Select 142 - Employee Responsible - Sales (other examples would include 40 - Processor).
8. Search and select YYY (YYY represents the ID of employee).
9. Click the Save button.
10. You will receive the error message 'Cannot create territory. Parent territory already on the lowest level'.

The parent territory and child territory X are at same territory hierarchy level.

Create a different dummy parent territory XXX and save. After that reassign the original parent territory to correctly determine the hierarchy level.

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Fine Tuning view.
3. Open the activity Territory Hierarchy Level.
4. Enter the Territory levels you wish to have available in your system with Code and Description.
5. Save.
