How to create an exam using the assessment builder with random and or fixed questions?

To create a new objective:

1. Learning Administration > Content > Objectives >
2. Create a new "Objective" for your exam.

After creating the objective, create the question:

1. Learning Administration > Content > Question Library >
2. Create a question and associate it to the objective you created in the previous step be searching for it in the objective search bar.

Now that you are in the question editor, create your question ID and then your question. 

• It is possible to create multiple questions, just select "Add Question" and create a new one.
• Please ensure that you add them to your previously created objective to create a pool of questions.
• After you have created each question, save it and set it to "Available" which is located by the questions settings.
• Now you have created your pool of questions.

1. Now, go to Content > Assessments > Add New > Add New Exam (Enter exam details of your choosing) >
2. Select the "Menu" button in the top right-hand corner and go to questions >

3. In the "Questions" screen, please add in the objective that was created in the above steps >

4. You can then edit this objective by pressing the gear icon beside the name of the objective, which will be located on the right once you click the objective you have added >

5. Here you can choose the number of questions you wish to include from this objective >

• If the objective contains 9 questions and you only want 5 you can set it to 5.

 

6. Now to Add "fixed" questions you simply hit the Add button in the "Questions Objectives" screen and create your fixed questions which will always show up in the exam. Please ensure that they are also made available >
7. Once you have finished adding your questions, go the "Menu button" in the top right of the exam and select > Exam Overview > Set Published to "ON" by pressing the button. If this button is grayed out then that is because some questions have not been made available in the exam.

8. After that has been completed you can assign the exam to an item and assign it to users.
