Resolution
The backup process outlined in this article is specifically intended for future restore purposes. This means that backup requests can only be scheduled for upcoming dates, usually considered when major changes are planned in your environment.
We cannot process backup requests for past dates.
If you need to create your own backup or export data from the system, we recommend following the steps in the knowledge base article 2087990 - Data Imports & Exports: What Are the Options to Export or Extract all Our Data and Forms from the SuccessFactors Application?.
Considerations:
- Backup time retention possibilities: 30, 60 or 90 days.
No other ranges are eligible at the moment. - Backup schedule timeframes: From Monday to Thursday, outside of standard peak busy hours respective to the DC Region Time:
- EU: M/F 08:00 – 20:00 GMT;
- US: M/F 08:00 – 20:00 US/ET;
- AU: M/F 08:00 – 20:00 AU/ET.
How to raise a backup request:
- Raise a new Medium support case under the LOD-SF-PLT-BKP component
Note: Submit your request 5-10 days before the time/date slot you need - Within the request description, provide:
- Company ID of the instance you'd like the snapshot to be taken from;
- Future date/time slot of your preference;
- Desired retention period;
- Business justification;
In case more than one backup is needed, for a different date/time, make sure to create separate tickets for each request.
Backup of data takes a estimated 2-3 hours depending on the schema size. An update on the progress of the backup completion will be provided in the ticket.
