2570855 - Run Ad Hoc Report on masked fields

Symptom

Is it possible to run an Ad Hoc reports on a marked field? (******)

Alternative workaround to unmask field via Manage Business Configuration

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Manage Business Configuration
  2. Select Element and select field then click "Details"
  3. Set "Masked" to "Yes"
  4. View employees profile (Field will now be displayed as such "*****")

Cause

For security reasons once you have made a field "Masked" it is considered sensitive information and this data cannot be extracted/reported on via Ad Hoc Reports.

Resolution

Alternative workaround is to set the previously masked field to "No".

Once set to no you will now once again be able to extracted/reported on this field via Ad Hoc Reports.
