2572053 - ABAP Exception Occurred When You Try to Preview Service Orders

Symptom

When trying to preview a Service Order, you got system exception as 'An exception occured in the backend that was not handled by a caller'.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Service Orders Work Center.
  2. Go to Service Order Processing menu.
  3. Open Service Order XYZ (XYZ represents the Service Order which has preview issue).
  4. Click Preview button.
  5. Exception occurs. Error:An exception occured in the backend that was not handled by a caller.

Cause

Issue is caused by valuation details not correctly maintained in the material’s master data.

If the valuation of the material is not valid on the Reported On Date of the Service Order, it will cause an error.

Resolution

The valuation details will have to be saved here and also, the Valid From Date here for the valuation of the material has to be aligned with the Reported On Date of the Service Order.

You need to maintain the valuation data of all the materials on or before the Reported On Date of the Service Order.
