2572545 - Feature enhancement for ability to reset database timestamp - ASE

Symptom

  • Under rare circumstances, a database's timestamp counter can exhaust its values and be put in a read-only mode with error 6910 or 935.
  • Currently the database must be rebuilt (create new database, defncopy to create scripts from old database and run scripts on new server, and bcp data) to recover from this state, which is a time-consuming operation.
  • A more efficient automatic process to reset the database's timestamp in-place is needed.
