2572672 - Compensation & Variable Pay - Standard element label change not reflecting worksheets

Symptom

After changing the label in Succession Data Model or Manage Business Configuration for Standard Elements such as Department, Division etc.

However, these changes do not reflect in Compensation Worksheets and the system continues to show the old label.

How and where can this be edited to show the required updated labels?

**Image/data is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental**

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Compensation
  • SAP SuccessFactors Variable Pay

Reproducing the Issue

Go to Compensation from module selector which will direct you to your Compensation inbox.

Open a Compensation workhseet select and select the "Filter Options" option. Here you will see the old labels are being displayed.

Additionally, go to "People Profile", look for the standard element portlets, and see that their labels are still showing the old values.

Cause

The root cause of this behaviour is the labels used for these fields are coming from 3-Tier Architecture Language Packs.

This is where the translations are maintained.

Resolution

Any changes which need to be reflected in Filter Options, Youcalc widget or in People Profile, please review and download the 3-Tier Architecture Language Packs via Manage Languages.

You will have to search for the Tag/Key of the required fields and maintain the new label in the corresponding languages in the .CSV file.

This should reflect in the Filter Options and People Profile. If you do not find these Key or Tags, then you will have to manually add them and then maintain the translations for the new labels in the respective languages.

The following is an example of how this can be done.

  • Update the logged in user's language to be English Debug via Settings
  • Go to the Compensation worksheet and select "Filter Options"

  • Here we can see the tag for Division is :DIVISION:
  • Go to Manage Languages via Admin Center and download the default language pack
  • Open this and find the tag you are looking for

  • Upload and add this to any custom third tier language pack via Manage Languages. Add this in as seen in the below screenshot

  • Once the upload has been completed, change the logged in users language back to the main language. In this example we are using US
  • Go back into a Compensation worksheet and select Filter Options. Notice now this label has been updated
