2572942 - Cannot select an SAP View as a data source in Custom CDS View App

Symptom

You want to create a CDS view based on an SAP View such as "C_MaterialStockActual" or "C_MaterialStockByKeyDate", but you cannot the view in the Custom CDS View App.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Custom CDS Views app

Cause

Starting with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 1708, views of the type query cannot be used as data sources in Custom CDS Views, neither SAP delivered queries nor custom queries

Resolution

Using the View Browser app, find a similar Custom CDS View that does not have "Data Category" of "Query"
For instance, for views "C_MaterialStockActual" or "C_MaterialStockByKeyDate", SAP View I_MaterialStock may be a suitable alternative
