Symptom

  • In SAP Replication Server (SRS), a backup id server has been configured:

        1> sysadmin idserver, config, backup, r2, r2_id_user,'password'
        2> go
        Backup ID Server is configured.

        1> sysadmin idserver
        2> go
         IDS
                 NAME
                 USER
                 STATUS
         --------------------------------------------------------------

         primary
                 r1
                 r1_id_user
                 active
         backup
                 r2
                 r2_id_user
                 active

  • After shutting down and restarting the primary id server, the backup id server is now shown as the primary id server:

        1> sysadmin idserver
        2> go
         IDS
                 NAME
                 USER
                 STATUS
         --------------------------------------------------------------
         primary
                 r2
                 r2_id_user
                 active
