Symptom
System will allow to add a custom fields in object definition but will throw an error while accessing Income Tax Declaration portlet in employee file or the custom field will not be visible.

Cause
Resolution
Currently custom fields are not displayed in the UI or read-only in People Profile > Income Tax Declarations. On the other hand, they will be available and editable in Manage Data. The engineering team is aware of this and there is an enhancement request (BEN-2936) for the same. We don't yet have fix version available for it. Once it is implemented, it'll be included in the respective release notes. You may contact your CSM or call SAP hotline number to know status of the enhancement request.
If the requirement is for adding landlord's PAN card number, then we can do either of the following:
Maintain a custom field for PAN card. Ask end users to send PAN card details to admin who has access to Manage Data. Let the Admin upload/maitain data to the custom field.
OR
Use Attachment field to save PAN card details.
Note that currently it is not possible to add multiple entries for actual submission at one go. For example, a user has to enter actuals twice if he/she has PPF and LIC for section 80C - triggering the workflow (if configured) twice.
