Blank Error Message when submitting New Hire.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. Add new employee
2. Enter all mandatory information for hiring
3. Submit to save
4. On selecting "Submit" the following blank Error message appears
   
   
   

If a blank Error message appears the following recommendation is to repeat above Steps 1 & 2, before submitting however press F12 on your keyboard and then proceed to Step 3.

1. In the bottom left-hand corner you will then be looking for the hrisHireControllerProxy.save.dwr line - select this (you will be looking to select the closest to the bottom dwr line as this is the most recent)
2. Next at the bottom right-hand side you will need to select the "Preview"
3. Here you will find a more detailed error message (As seen below)
   
   

   error: username="Username already exists, please choose another"

   

The Error is caused as the "Username already exists in the System and therefore the system is erroring when you select submit.  (See above via Debug Tool)

If you are Genrating the Person ID via business rule in "PersonalInfo", review the Sequence being used. You will be able to verify if the Person ID already exists in the system also if you do an "Employee Export"

There are two ways to resolve this issue:

• Update the current Sequence value in the rule to a value which is not used such as 134547.
  
  
  

OR

• Use the feature we provided in "Company System and Logo Settins" to generate the Person Id and in turn the USERID and USERNAME which is "Next Person Id Assigned".c
