Symptom

  • An error similar to the following was displayed when saving a Custom CDS View
Field <fieldid1> doesn't exist. It is used in properties of field <fieldid2>
  • For example:
Field CompanyCodeCurrency doesn't exist. It is used in properties of field AmountInCompanyCodeCurrency

Reproducing the Issue



   

    

  1. Create a new Custom CDS View
    2. 

  2. Add a datasource
    3. 

  3. Select a field from the datasource
    4. 

  4. Click the Save Draft button
    5. 



Result: An error similar to the following is displayed:


Field <fieldid1> doesn't exist. It is used in properties of field <fieldid2>








Resolution



   

    

  • 

    Be sure to include the field labeled as <field1> in the sample error message in your Custom CDS View

  • For example, for the error message:
    • 



Field CompanyCodeCurrency doesn't exist. It is used in properties of field AmountInCompanyCodeCurrency


field CompanyCodeCurrency needed to be added to the Custom CDS View to resolve the error
