2575218 - Bootstrap terminates with exit code 558 - invalid username/password; logon denied

Symptom

The Java server bootstrap process cannot connect to the database.

The following exception can be seen in jvm_bootstrap log file:

Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
at oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CTTIoer.processError(T4CTTIoer.java:450)

Additionally the following entries appear in dev_jstart and dev_bootstrap log files:
