2575655 - Not Able To Edit Description Of Competitor Classification

You are not able to edit Description field of Competitor Classification in Business Configuration. Warning message shows 'Activity is read-only; settings cannot be changed'.

Prerequisite: activity Competitor is in the project scope.

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to Implementation Projects view.
3. Select Implementation Project and Open Activity List.
4. Search for and open activity Competitor.
5. You are not able to make changes. Warning message shows 'Activity is read-only; settings cannot be changed'.

You expect that you are able to edit Description field of Competitor Classification.

User does not have access authorizations assigned for BC_MARKETING under BC_BUSINESSCONFIGURATION in the Work Center and View Assignment.

This is the expected system behaviour. To be able to edit Description field of Competitor Classification, user making changes must have BC_MARKETING access authorization assigned in the Work Center and View Assignment.

To resolve the issue you can follow the steps below:

1. Go to Administrator work center.
2. Under Users click on Business Users.
3. Search for user ABC (ABC represents the ID of the user) and select Edit > Access Rights.
4. Go to Work Center and View Assignment facet.
5. Expand BC_BUSINESSCONFIGURATION.
6. For BC_MARKETING check the box Assigned To User.
7. Save.

You are now able to edit Description field of Competitor Classification.
