2575890 - Oracle connection in "Awaiting Upgr" status after attempting upgrade - SRS

Symptom

After attempting to upgrade an Oracle user database connection during the upgrade of an SAP Replication Server (SRS), the error log shows:

ERROR #18076 USER(sa) - ric/useful/results.c(656)
        Unable to execute query 'select count(*) from user_tables where table_name = upper('rs_dbversion')' against server 'DCO'.
ERROR #1028 USER(sa) - ric/useful/results.c(656)
        Message from server: Message: 1445, State 0, Severity 16 -- 'ORA-01445: cannot select ROWID from, or sample, a join view without a key-preserved table
'.
ERROR #18095 USER(sa) - eric/servmain/upgr.c(3389)
        Database 'DCO.DB' is not accessible.
